| so, i never made that congee, because i'm lazy, and just made some oatmeal instead.
but i do have a foodie thing to share!
today i had a 'london fog' for the first time - and oh - my - god. it's half earl grey tea, half steamed milk, with a shot of vanilla. it just worked so well together, it was DELICIOUS. perhaps it will replace my old latte addiction...
but yeah. it's very very good! and at starbucks they call it an 'earl grey tea misto'. (tho i haven't had the one from starbucks yet)
that's my foodie news, and recommendation : )

in non-food updates (gasp!) it's been cold and rainy here for what feels like forever. and also, i slept through my alarm today, or got up and turned it off without waking up - and while this used to happen all the time at home, this is actually the first time it's happened here. oh no!
ah well.

| it was a long day - tutorial ended at 6:30! + clubs night + bus = home at 8.15!! *ridiculous.*
and at the end of the long day, she made herself a big pot of 'ban tang' (beans, potatoes, and what can best be described as clumps of dough), and then proceeded to eat the entire thing, which would originally have been partially saved for lunch. mm, mood-dictated eating!
goddamn. quelle journee terrible!
*sigh* i'm not taking french this year - so it only goes downhill from that poorly concoted sentence.

| i love grocery shopping.
i'm coming home this next weekend - please don't be offended if i don't see you. i have precious little time to share with my julie, my boy, and my gorging on home cooking.
week 1 of making own meals has been alright. week 2 here i come. i bought a jar of pickles to provide crunchy, savoury variety with my bagels, fried eggs and instant noodles.
please note my conspicuous lack of university experience updating. that's because i'm phasing out of this blog - leaving only random small things like my love of grocery shopping.
perhaps there'll be a big unveiling of the new blog. or perhaps i'll just phase out public blogging altogether! we'll see... but in the meantime: food updates galore! *yay* you can all witness my cooking adventures! this week, stay tuned for a congee adventure.

| lol, i enjoy the pitiful response my big excited 'calculus notes auction!' post received. *sigh* ah well. i'll give em to julie, and she can get whatever profit they make.
in reflecting on this summer: it was not... that bad. - lol.
it was definitely not what i'd expected. i'd expected drudgery on the job, and hanging out with woburn people. instead work became much more fun, and i spent much of my non-work time with work people. (i met some delightful new mofos.) i learned how to make funnel, pizza, work ancient cash-registers (though i do believe my learning on the fast-food front has about plateaud (sp?) - i desire no more education in frying) and you know, despite work, it was really pretty relaxing. i almost forget what staying up to write essays is like. : )
i've also started to feel out this whole 'distancing from high school friends' thing. i've realized a bit more who really cares for me (*MUAH*), and who i should not be broken up about leaving behind - for a few cranks of the wheel at least - it's just the way things flow.
and leave behind she did, as she drove east-ward on that dappled morning of september the fifth.
